Re: Petition to Posthumously Pardon Lenny Bruce

Dear Governor Pataki—

I am the daughter of Lenny Bruce.

I write to join and support the petition recently filed with you by Ronald K.L. Collins and David M. Skover to posthumously pardon my father, Lenny Bruce.

My father was proud to be an American. He undeniably believed in our system of government and in the right to exercise the power of the spoken word. It would be indecent, unjust and unkind – all of the things my father was not – not to set aside his conviction by way of a posthumous pardon.

I join and support the Collins and Skover petition in the sincere hope that you will give this matter the consideration it deserves and that you will do the right thing and posthumously pardon my father.
Thank you for your consideration.
Respectfully,

Kitty Bruce
